DIY RECIPE OF THE MONTH

I have been fortunate enough to visit Italy on a few occasions, and one of my favorite Italian Liquors is Limoncello. Typically made in the south of Italy, this delicious sweet and sour mixture is the perfect end of meal or welcome drink, to any Italian themed dinner! Its VERY simple to prep and will add a little citrusy sunshine to your next get-together. I prefer our Certified Organic Cane Spirit for this recipe, but the Organic Grape is a great choice as well.

I like to serve chilled in small 2 oz. glasses, you can sugar the rim or add a lemon garnish!


THIS MONTHS RECIPE:HOMEMADE LIMONCELLO


WHAT YOU'LL NEED

      • 12 Organic Lemons
        If you can get ahold of Meyer Lemons, even better!
      • 24 oz. 190-proof Organic Cane Alcohol
      • 24 oz. Water
      • 16 oz. White Sugar
      • 64 oz. Mason Jar
      • Mesh or Strainer
      • Extra Bottles for Serving/Storing

WHAT YOU'LL DO

      1. Wash and peel lemons in strips, remove all pith from peels and toss pith out
        (set aside lemons for later use if you like)
      2. Place all peels in 64 oz. Mason Jar
      3. Pour in Organic Cane Alcohol
      4. Let sit for 48 hours at room temperature
      5. Bring Water to a boil, add Sugar
      6. Lower heat and stir until sugar is dissolved
      7. Add Sugar Water to Alcohol mixture and shake
      8. Lower heat and stir until Sugar is dissolved
      9. Put into refrigerator for 24 hours
      10. Strain peels out
      11. Pour your Limoncello into bottles, or leave in your Mason Jar, and ENJOY!


      Keep refrigerated for up to 1 month.
