July Customer Spotlight 2024: Amma Rosavalon, Clinical Herbalist

CUSTOMER-GreenRibbon-WhiteText

CELEBRATING OUR COMMUNITY OF TALENTED MAKERS, ARTISANS & ALCHEMIST

Southern Oregon has an abundance of talented herbalists. One of our favorite herbal friends is Amma Rosavalon, a clinical herbalist practicing right here in Ashland!

Meet Amma...

Amma stopped by OAC to collect some spirits for an upcoming medicine making class she was teaching locally. Upon my brief meeting of Amma, I could immediately sense her lovely spirit and calming grounded-ness. As her pup wandered the front of the building, Amma shared how she was just up in the woods and was happy to stop and get spirits for her tinctures. We are lucky to have the best customers here at OAC, making and sharing their gifts with the world.

Amma Rosavalon, Herbalist

About...

Amma is a clinical herbalist, herbal educator, gardener, medicine maker, and eternal student of the plants. A lifelong love affair with the realms of nature has informed her path as an herbalist. She is an advocate of wellness and shares her gifts through connection to nature and its medicines.

Amma learned her skills in herbalism and healing arts through the Hawthorne Institute, a clinical herbalism school based out of Southern Oregon. She trained in bioregional herbalism, which focuses on sustainability of local herbs, ethical wildcrafting, clinical herbalism, as well as Ayurvedic medicine. Amma collecting herbs

Some of Amma's focuses that make her herbal practice special:

      • Harvests locally grown and wild harvested herbs from our beautiful local region
      • Sources Certified Organic Alcohol for her tinctures (from yours truly, of course)
      • Makes small batch tinctures and oils to ensure the highest quality results
      • Works closely in a one-on-one setting to provide individualized herbal care
      • Uses each session to educate and teach her clients about herbalism

On the whole, Amma's practice honors the earth from the way she harvests plants, to how she allows the seasons and rhythms of the land to guide her. She believes the health of the individual and the health of the earth are intimately intertwined and seeks to help connect people back to the earth in everything she does.
