The founder and creator, Jasmine, was taught at an early age by her mother the benefits and remedies of Chinese medicine based on yin and yang energy. Jasmine's mother explained that in nature the power of plants holds not only intrinsic healing properties but also topical healing properties.
Jasmine began to work for a skincare company soon after college. As project manager, she learned about different concentrations and formulations present in mass-produced skincare. In her free time, Jasmine started researching and experimenting, eventually creating her own herbal skincare formulations.
Essance’s proprietary formulas contain chaga mushroom, teas, ginseng, and dragon's blood infused in organic cane alcohol to extract medicinal properties designed for specific products. These ingredients are the basis of the Essance Skincare line we all know and love today.
